Due to recent massive storm damage in the Bentonville area, Gary Vernon has been forced to cancel his trip to Traverse City this month, and the June 19 event has been cancelled.

How did a couple guys’ passion for mountain cycling transform the community of Bentonville, Arkansas into a destination that saw 1.5 million people ride their trails in 2020? How could a community that sits over a thousand miles from towns like Durango, Aspen and Vail come to be called the Mountain Bike Capital of the World, with an economic impact of over $150 million per year?
Gary Vernon convinced the heirs of the Walmart empire to invest in this transformation. Gary now serves as Senior Program Officer at the Walton Family Foundation who leads cycling and trail-building initiatives. He is considered an expert in mountain bike trail system development, and has overseen the design and construction of over 600 miles of mountain bike trails in Arkansas.
Bentonville is much like Traverse City in size and remoteness. And we too have the potential to create a trail system that could rival Bentonville’s. Hear about the many benefits of expanding our trail networks at this special appearance and presentation by Gary Vernon.
