WILLOW LAKE

You are standing in the area of what used to be Willow Lake.  Built in 1900, Willow Lake was a patient made fish pond that was located on the front lawn of the Traverse City State Hospital. It was a feature that was added in to keep with the spirit of “beauty is therapy”.  After the installation of a short cement wall around the perimeter of the lake, along with a fountain and lights in the 1970’s, it was then referred to as the “Reflecting Pool”, but was later demolished in 1995.
Follow the pathway towards Elmwood Ave.

It is to the East, if you must ask.

At the end of the path, to the right you should peek.

There will be a lamp post with the information you seek.
